Over the course of my fitness journey, I’ve come across some fantastic companies and products. I’ve dedicated this move better resources page for products that I have personally tried—I know them, I love them, and they have brought me value around how I move and interact in the world. I truly believe that these options can aid you in your own journey of fitness.
When you purchase these products through these links, I do receive a small commission. These funds not only help me to support my family, they allow me additional time and flexibility to continue to put content on this website, through which I am able to reach and help as many people as possible. That being said, I believe 100% in every link on this move better resources page and share them primarily to encourage and equip you in the art of fitness and developing your lifelong movement practice.
Thank you for supporting The Art of Fitness.

MovNat is a methodology of movement that focuses on moving naturally as part of the human experience. They offer workshops and certifications that focus on the skill of movement. MovNat is about moving in progression, with the goal of exploring the world, not conquering your body. For me, studying natural movement means that I am no longer confined to the groomed flat trails that are designed for people who don’t move well; I have new capabilities in my body now. If you’re interested in exploring new kinds of movement, this may be a perfect paradigm for you.
Your foot is designed to be highly mobile and incredibly dexterous. There are actually 26 bones and 32 joints in your foot, and it has the same number of sensory nerves that you have in the palms of your hands, in your mouth, or in your genitals. However, when we put typical shoes on our feet, we restrict its natural movement and suffocate its ability to feel and interact with the world around us.
Walking barefoot is especially important to our overall movement, balance, and stability; however, going shoeless is not always practical (or allowed). If I can’t be barefoot, I want a shoe that allows my foot to sense and respond, not a shoe that dictates how my foot interacts with the ground. I love these companies who think outside the box to create shoes that protect your foot’s natural movement and sensitivity.
