| “Jesse is a fantastic personal trainer. If you want compliments on muscle definition and your overall ‘appearance of fitness’ he’s your man. He is also one of the nicest people that you will meet. Since moving away from Austin we have another trainer but it’s not the same as Jesse!”

| “Body, mind and self are all integral parts of the solution when working out with Jesse. He has an extensive knowledge of the human body, why it works the way it does, and how to get it to perform at maximum efficiency. His curiosity continually informs and transforms the type of workouts we do, and his ability to deal with various forms of body malfunctions to get you going again are both effective and sensitive to each client’s needs. Jesse works with the whole self, not just the body.”

| On April 12th, 2006 I had just returned home from reviewing my latest lipid lab report with my doctor. I was 54 years old and had been trying to manage health improvements and change my eating habits for over three years. I was losing the battle. My weight had increased to over 285 pounds, my lab results were terrible, and my doctor said I was another statistic headed for heart disease. My father was 65 when he died of complications from heart disease and that really concerned me. It was time for me to do some reflecting and think about some serious life changes.A close friend of mine had begun training with Jesse some six months earlier. The improvements I saw in him took me by surprise. Even though I was much heavier and older than him, I could keep up in those activities we enjoyed doing together. Mountain biking and off road motorcycling were our two main activities. Now, however, there was a marked difference. In just three months, he was beginning to leave me in the dust. His secret weapon was his training program with Jesse.
I did some research and contacted Jesse about the possibility of training under him. He came with me on one of our mountain bike outings and I got to know him a little bit. I wasn’t sure about the whole program and still had my doubts about whether this would work for me. Jesse asked me to list my goals and submit them to him. I listed: 1) Get in shape and healthy enough to do the activities I enjoy doing (biking, motorcycling, scuba diving) 2) Get my lab results back into the normal and healthy range 3) Lose weight. In addition, I wanted to improve my off road racing results on my motorcycle. I had been a champion in my age class in past years and now was struggling to finish mid pack or worse. Also, I would be totally exhausted at the end of a race and wasn’t sure I could continue to be competitive in that sport anymore. I started working out under Jesse’s guidance in May 2006. The program included nutrition guidance as well as on line workout activities that he would monitor when I was traveling on the road. The changes in the past year have been dramatic. My cholesterol is down from a high of 246 mg/dL to 161 mg/dL. My triglycerides are down from a high of 554 mg/dL to 166 mg/dL. My HDL is up from 39 to 42 and my LDL is down from 149 to 86. My weight is currently at 259 pounds and continues to drop. I have met my three original goals and have set new goals for the coming year. Needless to say, I am very pleased with the results and looking forward to continued improvements. In addition, I suffered two serious chest and back injuries in the course of my racing activities. Jesse structured my workouts around the injuries to help me recover much quicker than I would have otherwise. This has started a life style change for me. Jesse makes the workouts satisfying and tailors them to my race competitions. His knowledge, advice, encouragements, coupled with the right amount of drive has been instrumental in my improvements. His program works. I am competitive on the motorcycle again and feel stronger than I have in thirty years. I now finish a two hour race with lap times faster at the end of the race than in the beginning. I look forward to our workouts. Oh…. and my mountain bike partner….now we’re blasting up hills together side by side like a couple of twenty year olds. Marco Martin |
| I don’t know where to start raving about Jesse! He is one of the most intuitive healers I have ever had. My iliopsoas was severed and my leg was shortened during a left hip replacement in 1993, and I have had multiple hip replacement revisions. This problem led to spondylolisthesis (vertebrae slippage), all of which causes sometimes unbearable chronic pain. On my worst days I could hardly drag my body into Jesse’s clinic, but probably 90% of the time after a one to two hour session with Jesse, I would walk out of his office with barely a limp and hardly any pain.In 37 years of dealing with this problem I have seen at least 24 health care providers, including orthopedic and spine doctors, surgeons, PTs, DPTs, rolfers, massage therapists, chiropractors and the Wizard of Oz, and none of them have brought me the relief on a consistent basis that Jesse James has.
I highly recommend him to the universe! Barbie Clifton |
| I’m only 33, but I’ve had back problems for at least 6 years. I’ve seen chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, orthotists, done Pilates basically anything I could come up with that might help. When a cranio sacral therapist recommended Jesse, I tried him out. Jesse did one massage to figure out what was going on in there, then taught me how to work on the problem myself. After just 5 sessions with Jesse (plus using what he taught me on my own), the problem is nearly gone! Six years I’ve been working with loads of professionals on this, and Jesse took 5 sessions! What I love about Jesse’s work is that his goal is to make you self sufficient. Not dependent on orthotics or weekly massage or chiropractic, but self sufficient. On top of that, he’s just a great guy to be around. I am SO appreciative of what Jesse taught me!

| I have been a runner for many years and thought I was in pretty good shape. I began to have injuries, mainly to my back. I finally consulted Jesse and discovered my injuries were due to the imbalance of my muscular strength. Jesse has helped me to create strength in my weaker areas and balance in the stronger ones. I no longer have injuries, am able to do things without the fear of injury, and am a better runner!I am so grateful for Jesse’s skill and expertise!

| I wanted to let you know that Jesse’s training has made a big difference to me. My problem was plantar fasciitis and tenosynovitis (knotted ball of tendons ,in this case, the arch of foot) in the same foot. I had been dealing with this for close to a year before I met Jesse and had tried all different kinds of orthotics and shoes (including the spring loaded kind) to alleviate the situation. Jesse educated me with an overview of how to walk, the muscles involved including up the leg and butt, and footwear. He gave me a whole series of exercise and props to aid in these exercises. I have made great progress with all of this and now have the education and resources to deal with my feet and legs. By recognizing old injuries as being the beginning source of bad walking habits and by changing foot wear completely away from a soft supported shoe with a heel I now am able to be in tune with how I am walking and that impact on my feet.

| What started as training to keep osteoporosis at bay, morphed into a general fitness and physical therapy regimen from which my body benefited greatly. I addition, I continue to learn invaluable lessons from Jesse on how to keep fit and painfree.Thank you, Jesse!
